Off to the chemist

Today I went to the chemist to take some photos of the drugs and of the shop itself as I thought this would go with mental health and help with ideas by talking with the people there.

Here are some photos I took there

edited studio takes for mental health

Here is a photo I have taken in the studio then manipulated using Photoshop by duplicating the image then adding colour filters on top to disfigure the image quality and to add a since of movement. I then used the moving tool to move the different layers to one side away from the original to increases the effect.
disformed
When crating this photo I decided to select the faces outlines then using the moving tool I dragged the face over slightly to reveal a white background that I had place behind it. I then reselected the face and used the Gaussian bluer to disfigure the features.

I created this by making multiple layers in Photoshop witch I manipulated to make its structure. I then used the crop tool to crop the sides and to focus on the center.

Over the Holidays / Ideas

idea of bollon
This is an idea I got from looking at Edward Honaker’s work I made this by taking a group of photos of balloons and of string then in Photoshop  using a new document and placing them together.

I was stuck at the train station for a couple of hours over the half term here’s the photos I took of the wait. This one has a emptiness to it that fits with my resent project mental health.
DSC_0003
Edited version I have used a blue filter over this image and have lowered the exposure of the image to darken the shadows.
DSC_0008
This is a close up of the rails as I liked the lines and patters in the them and the connection to mental health they have even if its morbid .
DSC_0019
I thought this had a mental feel to it because of the writing mind the gap that could mean suicide or could be a mental thought saying mind not going over the top.

The bloons were for  my idea with Edward Honker  work.

“don’t go towards the light ” “but its soooo pretty”

flarance
This is my light drawing of Florence Nightingale I made this by planning out what features needed to be drawn in using the light with my team then using the torches on a slow shutter of 13 seconds to capture the images features.
This is what I copied to make my version of Florence Nightingale in the light drawing photo.

How we did this was having someone sit in a chair then we draw around them and added the detail to the image using the torches and by positioning the models face to look moody to add effect to the image. This was taken on 10 second slow shutter.

Neil
this was made by first planning out who was going to be where we had someone stand in the middle to capture the outlines of the astronaut then we started drawing around the when the camera went off for 13 sec. By having two people on the background and two on the suit outlines and buttons we were able to capture the details of the image.

Don’t cross the beams!!!!

IMGP1177
I like this one the most as I had the model stand above me while I positioned myself below to make the image look intimating and treating. I think next time I may move the side lights backwards to increase the shadows on her face.
IMGP1188
I also tried having my model sitting down to see how this would affect the image I found there was still a good natural feel to the photos and the angle give a fundable feel to the photo by the way she was positioned.
IMGP1180
For this one I had her look at the camera and I positioned the camera to be zoomed into her face focusing on capturing her body.
IMGP1190
I made these photos by setting up a snot, soft light and another umbrella light behind to make the three beams. This photo was done by placing her close to one of the lights over exposing her lift side of her face.

IN THE STUDIO WITH A SOFT LIGHT

IMGP1082

I started this set of photos by arranging my model in the center of the backdrop. Then arranging the lights to give the best effect to my piece.

IMGP1083
I decided to constrict the photo’s  at different angles to show different ways of using the studio  with the soft lighting.

IMGP1084

IMGP1085
I like this one as it has  a childish feel to it but I may crop it as I don’t like the  amount of red background around her as it over powers her.
