Shortly after her birth, her family moved to the township of Huntington, Long Island, where her father worked as an engineer for Grumman Aircraft. Her mother taught reading to children with learning difficulties. In 1972, Sherman enrolled into the visual arts department at Buffalo State College, where she began painting. She would on occasion dress up as alternate characters and go out to the town like this. Frustrated with what she saw as the medium’s limitations, she abandoned the form and took up photography.

I think Cindy Sherman photography is very formal within the way she lays out her subjects within her work making it look as if they have been positioned within a manner to capture the eye of the viewers to the image.I also like this as she mainly uses herself within her photography or a feminine presence making her images have a lighter side within them comforting feel to them.

Barbara Kruger

Barbara Kruger (born January 26, 1945) is an American conceptual artist and collagist. Much of her work consists of black-and-white photographs overlaid with declarative captions—in white-on-red Futura Bold Oblique or Helvetica Ultra Condensed. The phrases in her works often include pronouns such as “you”, “your”, “I”, “we”, and “they”, addressing cultural constructions of power, identity, and sexuality. Kruger lives and works in New York and Los Angeles.

Talk with the artist Barbara Kruger on YouTube.

I think Barbara’s work has some structure of Dada within it as she has constructed her work using different forms of magazines  and photography using collage techniques to form her work. I also like the way she has placed text within her work that reflects her art and complements its ability’s.

I think Nick Knight’s work is very different to other fashion photographers work due to the facts he adopts other material within his images that aren’t usually seen within photography like paint, makeup and plastic to disfigure the models and the image to the eye.

Advertising / Promotional material

Origami

WP_20170321_16_10_47_Pro

Origami is one of my final ideas on what to have for my promotional material as it is so easy to make and it is very intractable with the client as they can play with it and unfold it to find a new and exciting image with information about me within it.

Bussanis card

WP_20170321_16_28_31_Pro

I lacked the materials to make this but I wanted to make a set of camera shaped business cards with information plastered within the front cover of them and with it decorated like a camera giving you the ability to look throw it ,but I didn’t have enough time nor the materials to make this.

The photo’s express what it would look like.

cocktail flags WP_20170321_16_30_16_Pro

I also thought about making cocktail flags to advertises myself as I thought this would be a good way because of the way people always use cocktail sticks when there at party’s or social events and I thought my cards/flags would be able to reach more people this way making me well known.

 Poster / web post wright

I wasn’t quit sure what to do with this as I made this just for fun but I’m thinking of using this as maybe within a web advert or within some of my promotional material like as a poster or a business card as I think it is very drawing within the way the writing makes you follow the image. I also think it adds to the feel of my photography as it eggs my business up within the words that is written within it.

NEW – Logo

logo2.2.2.jpg

I decided to create a new logo as I thought my last one didn’t look as good and because of the way the last logo had an image within it making it harder to re brand if I wanted to within the future .

It is also easier to use because of the way it is just shapes and lines compered to the last that wasn’t that was an image.

Deciding time vote on which one I should use as my website cover pleas.

Research on Lisa Anne Auerbach

Lisa is an american photographer that was born in 1957 in Michigan and works in Los Angeles . She likes to focus on America and the meaning of it today in the public eye with the changes the country is going through socially with mega churches, 911 and woman’s rights compered to men.

This is a video of her at Pairs Photo

2016-09-19-1
This is her photo of her outfit  911 who. I really like this image as it is very controversial and truthful in some aspects as we don’t think about 911 that much because were always looking to the future. I really like the colour’s of the clothing but I do think she could have arranged the clothing better by having a model wear it or by having a different coloured background like pink or green.

2016-09-19-3
I like the way she has captured the mega churches to show them in a way that they are very menacing to view within the images but I do think it is abit disappointing that she did not take any images in side of the church as this leaves us wondering what they are like within. I know she said in the video it would mean her talking to like five people but I think she should have made the effort to get the images within the churches as to me the images feel incomplete.  .

Lisa uses kitting within her work to express her ideas and to show her thoughts on a subject or a  object within the headlines e.g 911 and Osama Bin Laden. She started this to save money  as it was cheaper to buy wool compered to film. she then incorporated her kitting within  her photography using it to express her feelings and to show the feelings of the american people. I really like the way she has used this medium wool as it is a strange and unusual material that is not seen as much within photography . I also like  the way she has used the kitting to show the american dream and to express feminism within her images.

Photos I have found on her website:

I like this image of a scrap of a porn magazine as I like the way she has planed and positioned the image so you can see only the features within her face and the borders of the outlines of the piece of paper making you forces on to the main subject that is the woman. I also like the way she has used the white background to draw out the magazine and to make it easier for the viewers to see.
2016-09-19-6
I think this is very simplistic but nice within the way she has planed out the background to accompany the book and to compliment the colors within the book’s title page. I don’t really like how it seems she has just thrown it down on to the table as the book is very unorganised this makes it look  very natural though but I think it would look better if she made it more central on the table to make the background even on its sides.

Art within a gallery on Brick Lane

This are pieces of art I saw within Brick Lane when I went onto the trip to brick lane to visit a farm and to see the art within the area. I took this as I thought they would give me some inspiration latter on within my course if they didn’t help within what I am looking at know as I really liked the lines and how the artists and formed them.

Church Documentary

This is a documentary shoot I have done for the Methodist church as they wanted it to be made in an artistic way but also in a way that expressed the church and what they have done. They also wanted me not to capture any images of people’s faces as they didn’t want their identities reviled to the public if they didn’t want it to be.

But some of them did allow me to take their images of their faces this is why some of my images have got faces within them.
